MARCH TRIAL SESSION!
HIBERNATION STATION 🐿️
Saturday March 22nd
10:30am- 11:30am
at Leonard R. Pierce Memorial Park
What will the session look like?
New this year, we are giving a peek into session happenings!
Welcome Activity
Design a Nature Camera & Feature Creature Element:
Upon arrival you will be welcomed to a table with supplies to decorate your own Nature Camera and Chipmunk Ears.
Read Aloud
Once Explorers and Guides have settled in, we will read “Hibernation Station” by Michelle Meadows while decorating.
Introduce the Feature Creature
Our Feature Creature is a Chipmunk- Natural Collector
Talk about hibernation, what animals hibernate and collecting food to prepare. (Chipmunks do not hibernate, but they collect and stay in their burrows during winter!)
Fort Building
Create a “hibernation station” to collect your food and hibernate.
Search & Collect
Wander with your guide to collect “food” to store for spring in your hibernation station. Then it is time for Spring- we can play!
Free Play/Mud Play/Stamps & Stickers
As always, Explorers are the leaders. Wherever play takes them is where we go! Would love to include Mud Play at the end if time and weather permits. And of course, we love our stamps and stickers to send off!
